Thank you for your booking!
I’m really looking forward to welcoming you and your baby to class soon.
Before attending, please read the important safety information below and complete the form that follows.
Safety Guidelines:
Please read these guidelines carefully before coming to your first class:
During class:
Only parents (or primary carers) work with their own baby.
Move slowly and gently. Never rush or force any movement.
If you feel stressed, unsure or uncomfortable at any time, simply pause and return to the massage when you feel ready.
Always ensure you feel confident, safe and supported in how you are holding or working with your baby.
When not to massage:
If your baby is unwell, it’s best not to attend the class.
If your baby is crying excessively and cannot be comforted, they may be unwell.
Never massage a distressed baby or a baby who is limp, pale, has a temperature or is experiencing breathing difficulties. Please seek appropriate medical care.
Massage is not recommended within 24 hours of your baby’s immunisations.
Oil – Patch Test:
In class, there is an option to use Grapeseed oil. Reactions are extremely rare, but best practice recommends completing a patch test at least 24 hours before your first session.
To do this:
Apply a small amount of Grapeseed oil to the inside of your baby’s wrist.
Observe for any signs of reaction such as redness, swelling, hives or itchiness.
If you notice anything concerning, please:
Let me know before attending class, and
Contact your GP for advice if needed.
If you do not have any Grapeseed oil at home, there are three options:
Please contact me to obtain your complementary oil prior to your first class.
Use an alternative oil of your choice (which you have completed a patch test as above with please).
Massage without oil, or use a baby lotion, during the first class and complete the patch test prior to the second class.
